$25 per person, register here:

At-the-door registration available for $30

This workshop is open to Novice (not beginner) to experienced players of mainly acoustic string instruments (fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, dulcimer, autoharp, etc). You will learn to play several songs and fiddle tunes with words (like Fortune), in the fun ensemble style of the Skillet Lickers and Charlie Poole, and we will work on how to play together to get that great Old Time Stringband sound! Time will be spent working on melody, chords and bass runs for guitars, and most importantly rhythm! Be ready to play and sing! A recording device (audio and video is fine) is HIGHLY recommended. Chocolate is always welcome! Janie, Pete and Kellie will have CD's for sale too!

Janie, Pete and Kellie have been immersed in Old Time Music for over 100 year of combined experience playing old time music and learning from old recordings of such bands as Gid Tanner and his Skillet Lickers, Charlie Poole's North Carolina Ramblers and other early 20th Century old time string bands.
